Father's Day is 16th June 2024. English Wine Week runs from 15th June to 23rd June.
There is no need to travel to the South of France, this summer's must-have sip comes from closer to home.
Balfour Winery's Nannette's Rosé has just won Gold at the prestigious global Rosé Masters, besting even the most beloved French varieties. A Gold medal at the Rosé Masters is only awarded according to the rigorous judging criteria, which states it must be a ‘brilliant wine that is a benchmark for its type’. This award-winning English Rosé not only pleases the palate but also supports the Kent Wildlife Trust, with each purchase helping fund rewilding projects.

Have fun with a Quiz Trail – explore in a new way! We love sharing the Kent history we discover! In June discover more about one of our fantastic Kent towns – maybe Rochester, Faversham, West Malling or our city Canterbury? The summer holidays are coming – Quiz Trails are educational for children! Here’s a snippet of history from Rochester.
Why is Rochester a town and not a city - it has a cathedral?! Rochester was made a city in 1211 ... and remained so until 1998. It seems an administrative error resulted in the town losing its city status! Medway became a unitary authority in 1998 and the city council were asked if they wanted to employ charter trustees to protect the city status. This was deemed unnecessary and hey ho ... Rochester was no longer a city! However, the holding of city status gives a settlement no special right.

Shepherd Neame’s Whitstable Bay Black Stout (4.2% ABV) is on sale in supermarkets for the first time.
The stout, part of the independent family brewer’s award-winning Whitstable Bay collection, is a popular choice on draught across its 300-strong estate of pubs and hotels across Kent, London and the South East.
In keeping with the beer’s name and dark colour, its bottle label uses a black and silver palette to depict a night-time Whitstable scene, featuring an iconic oyster yawl - synonymous with the Kent seaside town from which the brand takes its name - along with Shepherd Neame’s popular pub on the beach, the Old Neptune.
Whitstable Bay Black Stout is available to order from ASDA and Waitrose online, and from selected stores nationwide. It is also available from Shepherd Neame's Brewery Shop in Court Street, Faversham, and its online shop at https://shop.shepherdneame.co.uk/ Find out more at www.shepherdneame.co.uk/whitstable-bay
