By the time the 1960s arrived Petronella was eighteen, studying to be an actress and went on to have a successful career. In 1966 she married the superstar, Anthony Hopkins. With Petronella he had his only child, their daughter Abigail.
The marriage ended in divorce just six year later, when Abigail was aged four. Although his only child, the relationship has mostly been estranged between father and daughter. Anthony Hopkins is reported to have said, "I guess I am selfish. I have not been a good husband or father," Abigail also went on to become an actress - must be in the blood!
