The 2nd General Assembly of the World Farmers Market Coalition took place in Rome, Italy between July 12 and 13. The UK Farmers Markets were represented by the Farm Retail Association and London Farmers Markets.
Farmers Market Managers and Farmers Market Organisations from over 60 Countries came together to listen to speakers including the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and a Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
The second assembly meeting gave farmers market practitioners the opportunity to share ideas and develop new best practices to strengthen farmers markets across the world.
The Farm Retail Association in the UK operates an Accreditation Scheme to indicate if a farmers market reaches the standard of being a Real Farmers Market.
In Kent the Accredited Real Farmers Markets currently are:
Hall Place Bexley Farmers Market
Lenham Country Market
Chislehurst Farmers Market
West Malling Farmers Market
