17th September 2024
We have some exciting entertainment for you this month and next!
On Friday 20th September we have Firkins at Full Moon in September with the ever popular and fun loving LunaBarge! September's full corn moon is so called because this is when crops are gathered at the end of the summer season. At this time, the Moon appears particularly bright letting farmers continue harvesting into the night. This moon is also sometimes named the barley moon, and it is often the nearest full moon to the autumnal equinox, earning the title of 'harvest moon'. So, why not come along to moon watch, listen to some great live music and enjoy some delicious freshly brewed cask ale or a refreshing chilled beer and enjoy a tasty pizza. Please see attached flyer.
Please welcome Adam and Mia to the team. Adam has been working hard with a cheerful smile, serving behind the bar at the brewery and making pizzas and also at Beer on the Pier. Mia has been helping with a range of activities including pizza making and some bar work at the brewery taproom.
On Saturday I completed a 10 mile charity walk from Whitstable to Faversham to raise awareness of Pulmonary Fibrosis. A very dear friend of mine sadly died from this very rare condition, he was the most caring and loving person who is sadly missed. https://www.justgiving.com/page/karen-goody
It’s green hop season! Hence, we have been very busy brewing our multi award winning Kent Green Hop beers: Good Harvest, 3.8% golden ale brewed with hops from our own bines and Goodness Gracious Me Green Hop 4.8% IPA. To celebrate the hop harvest we have a Green Hop Festival on Saturday 5th October. Blake Sonnet will perform some great songs during the afternoon, the Dead Horse Morris will be dancing during the day and there will be music until 9:30pm plus more!
The Cathedral bar is open as usual, 4-7pm weekdays and 10am-6pm Saturdays. Children are very welcome, there is plenty of space for them to enjoy themselves but we would like to remind you that you will be responsible for supervising them at all times. We do not permit any other drinks or food onto the premises. We are also open for takeaway and deliveries. The brewery bar/shop is open weekdays 4pm - 7pm and Saturdays 10am – 6pm.
