Wine, Conservation & History – A Perfect Pairing at Produced in Kent's April Networking Event

Yesterday’s Members Networking Event at the Silverhand Estate was something special. April Fools' Day gifted us a stunning, sun-soaked afternoon - perfect for sipping Kentish sparkling wine in the breath taking setting of Luddesdown Court. A truly unique location, and what a privilege to be there!

Jamie Hughes captivated us with a fascinating talk - starting with the legend of King Ludd, who famously lost a hand in battle and had a silver one crafted (Game of Thrones vibes, anyone? 👑⚔️).

From there, we learned about Silverhand’s impressive conservation efforts as the UK’s largest single vineyard, their commitment to organic viticulture, and their incredible achievement of being carbon negative without offsetting!

Then came the real treat—the wine tasting! 🍾 We compared the Charmat method vs. Traditional method side by side, and the verdict? We loved them both! The Charmat method delivers a high-quality sparkling wine at great value - perfect for any occasion.

The atmosphere was buzzing with great conversations and connections, and it was hard to leave! A huge thank you to the fantastic team at MDCV UK Limited for hosting us so brilliantly.

If you haven’t visited yet, this weekend could be the perfect time—and with their pub, The Lion, right next door, there’s even more reason to make a day of it!
