Produced in Kent Members Go Wild!

Yesterday (Wednesday 17th May), Produced in Kent held one of their monthly Members Evenings at Wildwood in Herne.

Members, Industry Partners and Boost your Business producers were treated to coffee and cake before setting off on a 'netwalking' session around the 40 acres of ancient woodland to learn about the animals, and the work that Wildwood Trust do to protect, conserve & rewild British wildlife.

Before they headed off into the woods, Floortje - Produced in Kent's CEO welcomed everyone to the event in Wildwood's café, and introduced Kate, their Corporate & Commercial Development Manager.

Kate told the group about the work they are doing to introduce more local produce to the café and gift shop, and explained how important this is to the Trust's Green Vision - with the added bonus of it increasing their sales due to their passionate visitors aligning with this ethos. In particular their collaboration with Goody Ales to create a Wildwood beer at their brewery literally just around the corner, has been a huge success, and they are keen to team up with more local producers in the future.

Kate then introduced us to Paul Whitfield, Director General of Wildwood trust who explained some of their most recent rewilding and conservation projects: Including the Wilder Blean Project, and their Red Billed Chough breeding programme.

The group then spent two hours walking through the estate and learning about all the amazing native breeds and what the Trust are doing to protect & conserve them, as well as making connections with other businesses attending and catching up with the PinK team.

You can enjoy unlimited visits to Wildwood all year round when you join the charity as a member. Click here to become a member.

As a conservation charity dedicated to preserving British wildlife, every penny you give goes towards looking after their animals and their conservation projects to save some of Britain’s most threatened species.
