Kent producers shone at this year's Great Taste Awards.
Produced in Kent members had a fantastic result in this year’s Great Taste Awards, announced this week, with 20 products winning awards, including a good handful of previous Taste of Kent Award winning products.
Great Taste is the largest and most trusted food & drink accreditation scheme. It supports and promotes food & drink producers, large and small, giving buyers and food lovers in the UK and overseas reliable recommendations for great tasting food.
The judges look for truly great taste, regardless of branding or packaging. They take into account texture, appearance and of course the quality of the ingredients; they will note a good aroma, a decent bite, or a particularly smooth or crunchy texture. But above all else, the question remains – does the product taste truly great?
Winners are awarded one, two or three stars if the judges agree they deserve it based on taste. Those who are not nominated will receive constructive feedback to help them for future entries.
