At Lily’s Social Kitchen, we believe that food has the power to bring people together, create opportunities, and make a real difference in the community. That’s why we’re thrilled to be continuing our partnership with THE PIG-at Bridge Place for another year. As one of Kent’s finest restaurants, The Pig shares our passion for quality, sustainability, and community.
This is our third year working together and we’re incredibly grateful for their continued support. From their focus on seasonal, locally sourced produce to their commitment to giving back, it’s a partnership that makes perfect sense.
Earlier this month (February), Zoe Rodda and some of her team from Lily’s enjoyed a delicious lunch and an impressive kitchen tour at The Pig, and she’s excited to share how their partnership will continue for another year.
A £1 Difference with Every Meal
One of the key ways THE PIG-at Bridge Place is supporting us again this year is through their £1 donation scheme. Restaurant and hotel guests will be invited to add just £1 to their bill, a small amount that adds up to something truly life-changing.
This year, these donations will help us expand our cooking sessions, making food more accessible while supporting those we work with – including people who identify as neurodivergent (ND) or have additional needs, to gain independence through cooking. Many in these groups rely on takeaways and ultra-processed foods, so learning to cook healthy, affordable meals can be a transformational skill.
Giving Back Beyond the Kitchen
Beyond fundraising, The Pig’s team will be volunteering their hours with us to help make meals for Canterbury Winter Shelter. This is an essential service that provides food, warmth, and a safe space for vulnerable members of our community during the harsh winter months. Support from The Pig means we can feed more people and benefit from their expertise for our community.
We’re so grateful for The Pig’s continued generosity and their dedication to giving back to the local community. If you’d like to read more about how we’re making an impact, check out our Pay it Forward blog.
A final note from Zoe: “We’re truly humbled by The Pig’s generosity and their dedication to supporting the local community. They exemplify what it means to be a business that collaborates for social good, and we’re so grateful for our partnership. And our lunch was, of course, absolutely delicious – full of locally sourced, authentic flavours!”
