The Silverhand Estate: Defining the New Rules of English Sparkling Wine and Connecting Community with Conservation.

Hidden in the picturesque heart of the Kent countryside lies the magnificent Silverhand Estate, one of PinK’s newest members, and a trailblazer in the realm of English Sparkling Wine. As the UK’s largest single organic vineyard, they are proudly upholding an unwavering commitment to sustainability and conservation. Their devoted team of farmers and conservationists work tirelessly year-round to maintain exceptional standards, and the organic farming practices employed prioritise the wellbeing of the soil, the environment and all of those who savour their wine. A fundamental aspect of their sustainability mission is fostering a strong connection with the local community and, as part of this endeavour, they have curated a brilliant events programme throughout the year, running in tandem with the seasons.

On Saturday 15^th July, esteemed forensic botanist Dr. Mark Spencer led a captivating, guided walk and talk to discover the beautiful tapestry of wildflowers flowering across the estate. Participants had the chance to explore the rich biodiversity of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and to gain insights into the vital role of wildflowers in Silverhand’s farming practices. The enlightening walk was then followed by an exclusive tasting session in which guests were able to sample the estate’s maiden sparkling release, Silver Reign.

Their next event, a Vine & Meadow walk will take place on Saturday 2^nd September and will be another opportunity for attendees to get to know the picturesque location of Luddesdown and its fascinating history as well as the grape varieties planted across the estate and how they are grown and processed.
