About the Book…. A fabulous little cookbook which celebrates the best local and seasonal produce in Kent and our top class producers of speciality food and drink.
Born and raised in Kent, the author, Kay Coombs, spent 30 years in the food business travelling the world researching global food trends. Since retiring, she has been on a joyful voyage of discovery closer to home finding inspiration for the 24 unique recipes featured in the Little Kent Cookbook.
Two pages of the book highlight her favourite Kent producers who are featured in the recipes and the food and drink pairings. As we start the glorious Kent cherry season, be inspired by the three delicious cherry recipes, both sweet and savoury. As you start to plan your Xmas hampers consider this book alongside your local Kent products or as a stocking filler.
This is a little book with a big heart as all the profits go to a local charity in Kent-The Marjorie McClure School for children with special needs, where Kay works as a volunteer. The school provides educational support for children and young people with a wide range of complex needs, including physical, medical, sensory and learning difficulties. To date this cookery book has raised over £3,000 for the school.
The book retails at £7 and is available at local farm shops, farmers markets, gift shops, garden centres, cafes and coffee shops, or you can buy online here
