Q Catering kicks off 2023 with a bang, demonstrating success through its continued dedication and investment to growth

Q Catering, the Sittingbourne-based wholesale distributor kicks off the new year with a raft of exciting business developments, highlighting its continued investment in its customers. The growing wholesale distributor offers a large range of quality grocery, chilled, and frozen food products to over 830 businesses across the South East.

The company had a busy year last year, including the appointment of a new Managing Director, Steve Clarke, who is working to an ambitious goal of hitting £20 million turnover before 2030 with help from a new senior leadership team. 2023 is looking just as dynamic for the customer-centric food service company, with many developments and launches on the horizon.

ICM contract:

New for 2023, Q Catering has been awarded a sizeable sole supply agreement with Independent Catering Management (ICM), after 15 years of sharing the business with Brakes. ICM is one of the leading school meal providers in the South East of England and has been at the forefront of providing fresh and fabulous food to schools for 26 years.

Founded in 1996 by Andrew Saunders with a vision of creating great food using locally sourced ingredients and suppliers, the company today caters to over 90 schools in Kent, Surrey, and Sussex cooking tens of thousands of meals a day.

Next day delivery Telesales service

Q Catering has launched a new dedicated telesales service, allowing customers to place an order up to 10pm for next day delivery. Whether they have forgotten to place an order or need to add to an existing order, customers will be able to ring the main number and speak with a member of the friendly telesales team and rest assured they will have it the following day.

Product range expansion:

In time for Veganuary, customers will be able to order from the new Future Farms range, a high-quality plant-based range including Burgers, Sausages, Meatballs and Chick’n Pieces, helping caterers stay current within the ever-growing plant-based and flexitarian market. An exciting first for Q Catering with nutritious options for schools, pubs, garden centres and more.

Many other NPD lines will be joining the Q Catering portfolio in the coming months, highlights include more plant-based products from Quorn, award-winning premium Pasties, Smoothies and Milkshakes and a 13-product range of high-quality wholesale cakes, traybakes and brownies from The Finest Cake Co. The Kentish partner will come on board on the 1st of February under an exclusive food service contract.

Steve Clarke, Managing Director at Q Catering comments: “We’re certainly starting the new year with a bang. It’s extremely exciting to start 2023 launching new service improvements, working with new customers, and introducing so many new product ranges.

“We really are invested in each and every one of our customers, they’re at the forefront of every decision we make, and we look forward to working with them in bigger and better ways for the year ahead. We hope the expansion of our telesales team and longer ordering hours will be well received – showing our dedication to continuously improving the customer experience.

“Lastly, we’re delighted to be fully partnering with ICM after many successful years. A truly inspiring catering company that works tirelessly to provide only the highest service and quality to schools in the area. Our values align so closely with ICM, so we’re incredibly proud to be working so closely with them. To a successful 2023!”.
