Exciting news from The Foundry

The first whiskey ever to be distilled within the historic walls of Canterbury. Single malt, Streetlight Whiskey takes the name from the streetlights that were produced in the historic Foundry – where the pub and restaurant is based on Stour Street. The launch event was a complete sell out, held on a cold and wintry night at The Foundry – with whisky and whiskey fans (our Foundry Founders) coming from all over to share the wonderful experience with head brewer and distiller Jon – who has created this spirit with his unbridled passion and knowledge of distilling. In one cask we have produced 429 bottles, already nearly 50% sold, the very special bottles are available from the Foundry shop and will be available online at the beginning of May.

In recognition of the wonderfully crafted range of spirits on offer at The Foundry – the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) has award Canterbury Brewers and Distillers a bronze award for not only one, but two of our products. Our Smuggler Sam Spiced Rum – dark, as well as the ever popular Japansese Jin made with the Japanese Shikuwasa fruit shipped directly from our partners in Okinawa Island. The IWSC is an incredibly prestigious set of awards, focussing on high quality produce and sharing it within a community full of expertise, insight and opportunities for growth – we are delighted.
