Cunard’s announces partnership with English wine producer, Chapel Down

Chapel Down has partnered with Cunard and Harding+ to create a unique offering on board the newly launched Queen Anne – Cunard’s largest and grandest cruise ship to date.

Chapel Down, England’s leading wine producer, are set to be served on board the Queen Anne cruise ship which sets sail on its maiden voyage to Lisbon this Friday. With four of its English sparkling wines being served to the ship’s 3,000 passengers, the offering includes its multi-award winning Chapel Down Grand Reserve as well as Chapel Down Traveller’s Edition Brut and Rose and limited production Chapel Down Kit’s Coty Blanc de Blancs.

This marks the first time in Cunard’s 180-year history that they have served an English sparkling wine and the wine is expected to be served to over 100,000 passengers on-board each year. To celebrate the partnership, a rare silver-plated ice bucket released to commemorate the visit of HM Queen Camilla to the Chapel Down Winery ten years ago in 2024 will be displayed on the cruise ship in a 360-degree immersive display area in the heart of the ship’s retail area.

Sally Ockenden, Harding’s Category Director, said: “It’s been really exciting to partner with Chapel Down on this special offering for Queen Anne. This is the first time we have worked together and we were able to showcase the brand in a unique way which is going to give customers a unique insight into Chapel Down, their history and their winemaking process. We are always looking for new ways to collaborate and this was a fabulous example.”

Tom Hepworth-Bond, Sales Director for Chapel Down, added: “We are incredibly proud to be partnering with Cunard on the newly launched Queen Anne cruise ship. With a mission to ‘change the way the world sees English wine’, we are looking forward to introducing even more consumers from across the globe to the virtues of English wine and Chapel Down.”
