Celebrating 20 years of Winterdale Cheesemakers

September 2024 was a milestone for us – Its our 20th Birthday.

We really have come a long way and had a rollercoaster of a journey. From building our very own cheese barn and natural chalk cellar, to launching the UK’s first carbon neutral cheese to the ups and downs of the recent costs crisis.

This year we were delighted to win the Kent Cheese of the Year at the Taste of Kent Awards in June and enjoyed meeting buyers, chefs and customers at the Food Festival and Awards Ceremony.

We are still holding true to our original principles of producing top quality, local, traceable and sustainable cheese and are proud to have supplied some amazing restaurants and events. Seeing our cheese at Wimbledon was definitely a highlight! We are also grateful for all our loyal local customers and business partners too, who make up the wider Winterdale family.

So it was wonderful to throw a celebration with around 140 family , friends and customers to mark this special occasion. We were also pleased that the TMBC past mayor Dave Davies, who launched our carbon neutral cheese back in April 2013 and last year’s TMBC mayor James Lark also kindly attended.

There was plenty of cheese of course and just a few fireworks! But a huge thank you to everyone who came along.

Our Cheese Barn is open on Saturdays 10.00-13.00 we hope to see you soon.
