Biddenden Schönburger 2024

Produced from single varietal Schönburger grapes, originally planted at Biddenden in 1979, Biddenden Schönburger is a delicate dessert wine, pale light blush in colour with flavours of honey, lychee and elderflower.

Originating in Germany, Schönburger grapes grow particularly well in the UK due to our maritime climate and soils here in Kent. The grapes are pale and plum coloured, and have a very high sugar content. With good acidity they produce a very fruity full flavoured wine. Harvested in October, these grapes are left on the vine slightly longer to develop higher natural sugars.

With an alcohol of 9% ABV, this sweet wine is perfect for those looking for a lower alcohol option this January. (Did you know all our Biddenden’s wines are also gluten free and vegan!) Serve lightly chilled as an aperitif, pair with puddings or cheese or, for a lighter option, why not try as a delicious spritz.
