Produced in Kent Industry Partner teams up with The Foundry on latest product

The Foundry is a unique craft brewery, distillery, restaurant and bar located at 77 Stour Street, just off the high street of historic Canterbury.

The site of the brewery and distillery used to be part of Drury & Biggleton’s Foundry. In Victorian times the firm made a diverse range of items including some of the world's first lamp-posts, one of the earliest torpedoes and the first fountain pen from tin.

As well as brewing incredibly tasty award winning craft ales, head brewer and distiller Jon Mills creates the most fantastic range of spirits.

Sand Creative were excited to get the opportunity to work with Jon on his latest venture and create the branding and packaging for a new premium range of limited edition spirits.

The amazing history of the Foundry could not be ignored, so it was decided to feature some of the incredible pieces that were created there. As with Jon's distillation, the workers at the Foundry took their raw materials and turned them into things of beauty.

The first spirit up is single malt whiskey called STREETLIGHT. The post for the light was created at the Foundry and these lights are still in use and can be seen all over Canterbury today.

Sand Creative created an elegant design which will be adapted for future editions, featuring a series of different items that were produced at the Foundry. A beautiful illustration of the first Streetlight was commissioned and presented in a striking way at the centre of the design. This was then embellished with matt and gloss varnishes to enhance the illustration.
