Kent Food Hubs Expands to New Home in Folkestone - Making Supporting Local Easy

Kent Food Hubs CIC was set up in January 2020 with the goal to provide an easy platform to shop for local, sustainable and ethical produce - all in one place! The company has grown a lot since 2020, and is excited to announce that its first major funding from Kent County Council has been delivered.

One of the company’s popular traders - Docker Brewery and Bakehouse, has recently moved its bakery to a larger site at Park Farm Industrial Estate in Folkestone. Docker offered Kent Food Hubs a space to sublet at their new bakery. This space has been fantastic for Kent Food Hubs! Now everything is in one place - with lots of storage and space for packing orders, as well as a new community room for hire.

There is also a new Kent Food Hubs retail section at Docker Bakery displaying a wide range of delicious local products for sale, including Cheese from ‘Cheesemakers of Canterbury’, Kombucha from ‘Zak’s Kombucha’, Fresh fruit from ‘East Kent Growers’ and much, much more. Why not come down to the new site and check out the fabulous range of products on offer, as well as chat to the people behind the business.

Their new address is Kent Food Hubs HQ, Unit F, Kingsmead, Park Farm, Folkestone CT19 5EU.

Ordering from Kent Food Hubs is simple thanks to its new online ordering system, courtesy of online platform Ooooby. First go to https://kentfoodhubs.ooooby.org/boxes. Then select your core product - Veg Box, or Build Your Own (simply add individual items to your basket). Select your subscription - weekly, fortnightly, or one off box. You can pause your subscription at any time. Then select your collection point. Kent Food Hubs offers a range of collection points - Kent Food Hubs HQ, Unit F, Kingsmead, Park Farm, CT19 5EU (Collection between 3pm and 7pm Tuesdays), The Quarterhouse, Folkestone, The Providence Inn, Sandgate, The Red Lion, Hythe, and The Dukes Head, Sellindge. Pick up your order for free from your chosen collection point. Payments are taken on the day of collection/delivery, so once you have confirmed your order, that’s it. It’s that simple.

Kent Food Hubs also provides the option for delivery in its eco-style electric van, and by popular demand has expanded its delivery range as far as Hawkinge, Densole, Capel, Dymchurch and Sellindge.

Kent Food Hubs is extremely grateful to Kent County Council for this vital funding, and for Docker for providing an amazing multi-functional space. They hope to see many faces, new and old, at their new HQ, and to continue to spread their message to support local producers!
