Happy Vaisakhi was celebrated at Westgate Hall, over hundred people including local civic team Chief Superintendent, friends and family attended the event
For the first time Paul Babra of Karara Foods and Dev Biswal from The Cook's Tale teamed up together to organise the Sikh community’s Vaisakhi, a traditional spring harvest festival celebration, and to mark their new year celebrations with great pomp and pride at historic Westgate Hall Canterbury, Kent.
The pre booked ticketed event was well attended by 125 guests including local civic team, chief superintendent of police, friends and family from Kent, Essex and Florida, who dined and danced at the cracking Bhangra beats. The children had great fun mingling with the uniformed officers and having their pictures taken.
The very typical Punjabi menu dishes included famous fried fish from Amritsar, yogurt based Kadhi (not Curry) with Pakoras, minced Lamb cooked together with succulent leg pieces in its own juices, spiced baby aubergine, Pineapple Raita and Desi (country) styled chicken, which were well relished by all guests
Thank you to the sponsors and supporters, we can't wait to arrange similar diverse events to bring communities together.
