A Day in the Life of Ide Hill Community Shop

A fun and exciting day took place in the shop on Friday 6^th October.

A film crew from Channel 5 came here to feature us in their 'Kent - Garden of England' programme to be aired later this year. This is the working title for one of their series of " A Day In The Life Of..." style programmes featuring different counties around the country.

A couple of us were interviewed about our respective roles and they filmed us as well as several volunteers and customers in the shop - which was very busy and buzzing with excitement!

Prior to the day's filming an aerial photographer had visited the shop to take some outdoor shots - both of customers on the terrace and the view over the reservoir. On Friday the two-man film crew were here all day but will edit the footage into around 7 minutes. They were particularly impressed with how the shop has established itself as the focal point of the village - offering so much more than just the everyday essentials!
