THE LOIRE VALLEY
At over 600 miles in length the Loire is France’s longest and most famous river whose watershed encompasses a dynamic and diverse wine region. Along its course every type of wine is produced - dry and sweet, white, red, rose, still and sparkling. In this tasting we will be trying a variety of Loire classics. Starting with Muscadet near the Atlantic coast we will travel upriver and sample several styles of white wine made from Chenin Blanc and the famously dry, flinty Sauvignon Blancs for which the Loire is perhaps best known. In terms of red wines, the Loire Valley is the spiritual home of Cabernet Franc, but we will also try some up and coming Pinot Noir.
When: Friday 14th March 6.30pm - 8.30pm
Where: Macknade Wine Store
Cost: £25pp - includes all samples and a selection of regional cheeses & charcuterie from our Deli.
